Milena Bertolini’s women had a double session today at the Federal Technical Centre; this is their third day in Coverciano ahead of the Women’s European Championships.
“Our 2019 World Cup campaign was just the beginning: this year’s European Championships has the potential to further progress what we are trying to do and also show everyone that the previous World Cup campaign was no fluke” stated Aurora Galli, as she addressed the reporters’ questions alongside fellow teammate, Manuela Giugliano.
The Italian midfielder will make the journey back across the channel after having spent last season plying her trade in the Premier League, with Everton: “It was a different experience for me and I feel I’ve grown a lot over the last year… The European championships will be a tightly contested, even tournament across the board and must aspire to do as well as we can”.
Riding the same wave is Manuela Giugliano who isn’t afraid to hide the Azzurre’s aims ahead of the tournament: “We are always wanting to improve whenever we represent our country and there is a real will to ensure that we are as prepared as possible ahead of the tournament”.
The Azzurre will kick-off their campaign on 10 July, in Rotherham, against one of the favourites prior to the competition, France: “This will be a really difficult game”, The Roma midfielder announced. “However, we are well up for the challenge. We are all united in our vision and this will make a real difference on the pitch”.
