Head Coach Milena Bertolini has officially named the 23 players who will be part of the Azzurre’s squad for the FIFA World Cup, which will take place in France from 7 June to 7 July. An exciting adventure is in store, with Italy Women set to play a part in the final tournament for the first time in 20 years. Meanwhile the Azzurre continue to prepare for the tournament through their training camp in Riscone di Brunico, which comes on the back of two weeks of training at Coverciano

Tomorrow, the girls will complete a double training session, while on Sunday they’ll be able to enjoy a day of rest. On Monday afternoon, they’ll travel to Ferrara, where they’ll play Switzerland at the Stadio Paolo Mazza at 15:00 CEST on Wednesday 29 May in what will be their final friendly before the World Cup. On the eve of the game, a press conference will be held, with Head Coach Milena Bertolini, National Team captain Sara Gama, Spal’s Director General Andrea Gazzoli and representatives from the Municipal Administration set to attend.

On Saturday 1 June, a delegation led by Gabriele Gravina, President of the Italian Football Federation, and made up of the players and staff involved in Italy Women will be received at the Palazzo Madama, where Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati, President of the Senate, will greet the team on the eve of their departure for France.
The Azzurre will play their first match in the World Cup on Sunday 9 June (13:00 CEST) in Valenciennes against Australia and will then play Jamaica in Reims on Friday 14 June (18:00 CEST). On Tuesday 18 June at 21:00 CEST, they’ll once again play in Valenciennes, this time against Brazil. The top two teams in each group plus the four best third-place sides will qualify for the last 16.
