After the 2-1 defeat two days ago, Italy U16 today drew 1-1 with their Hungarian counterparts. All of the action came in the second half, following a first 45 minutes with very little action, when Fenyo opened the scoring for the guests. Zoratto’s boys reacted swiftly as they were eager to not lose this second match as well. It was Filippo Scotti who brought the Azzurrini level, turning in the cross for an easy finish. It was a big moment for the AC Milan forward, who also scored in the previous match.
“We’ve had two even games,” said Daniele Zoratto after the final whistle, “especially the first, in which certain episodes and the odd error influenced the result. I played two different teams in these two games; the aim was to get a look at a lot of different players and assess whether they are up to speed with international football ahead of the UEFA tournament in Portugal in May. A lot of good teams are there, such as the USA, Portugal and Belgium and we want to go into the competition in top form.” On Filippo Scotti, who scored two goals in two games: “He’s an interesting prospect. He has character, a good head on his shoulders and can run. He loves to get in behind and has an eye for goal. He’s improved a lot, and when he sets off, it’s difficult to stop him. He has a lot of potential.”
