Italy remain in 8th place in the FIFA World rankings, with Argentina returning to the top after six years. Their recent friendly successes over Panama (2-0) and Curaçao (7-0) have helped the World champions to displace Brazil from the throne (3rd, -2), whose defeat to Morocco (2-1) has cost them dearly.
World Cup runners-up, France, have earned a place, going up to second thanks to their opening EURO 2024 qualifying wins against the Netherlands (4-0) and Republic of Ireland (1-0). The only other news of note in the Top 20 is Senegal (18th, +1) and Denmark (19th, -1) have swapped places. Serbia (25th, +4), Algeria (34th, +6), Egypt (35th, +4) and Scotland (36th, +6) have all moved up the rankings. The next update is set to be published on 20 July.
