Italy remain 6th in the FIFA Rankings whilst Belgium hold onto the top spot at the beginning of 2022 ahead of Brazil and France. The only change in the top ten is thanks to Argentina, who took advantage of their wins in the World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Colombia to leapfrog England and move up to 4th place.
Victory in the Africa Cup of Nations means that Senegal have achieved their best ever ranking (18th) and thanks to their placements in the continental tournament, finalists Egypt (34th) and third-placed Cameroon (38th) also gained 11 and 12 places respectively. Wins in the Qatar 2022 qualifiers also moved Canada (33rd) and Costa Rica (42nd) up seven places, while Gambia (125th, +25) made the biggest leap forward. The next FIFA Ranking will be published on 31 March.
