Destination EURO 2025. With the draw being held at 18:00 CET in Lausanne (live on uefa.com), the journey to the 14th edition of the European tournament will officially commence. EURO 2025 will take place in Switzerland between 2 and 27 July 2025. Federation President Gabriele Gravina will be present at the ceremony held at the Swiss Tech Convention Center, along with Marco Brunelli and Andrea Soncin, plus Leonardo Bonucci who UEFA has invited amongst other historic players of the competition.
The Azzurre cannot wait to discover the opponents in their group. There is an enormous desire to continue growing and fighting together, making the most of a prestigious tournament and wiping away the disappointments of EURO 2022 and the World Cup 2024, with both journeys ending at the groupstage. The 16 participants will be divided into four groups of four teams, they have been classified in accordance with the overall Women's European Qualifiers league stage rankings. Soncin’s side who finished out their group in top spot, sit fourth in the rankings and will be in Pot 2 to leave space for hosts, Switzerland, who have already been assigned to the first position in Group A.
As well as Switzerland, the other three top seedings will be Spain, Germany and France. Italy are in Pot 2 with Iceland, Denmark and reigning champions England. Pot 3 includes the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Belgium and Pot 4 includes Finland, Poland, Portugal and Wales. The top two teams from each final tournament group will progress to the knockout phase. The competition will be played in eight cities in Switzerland (Basel, Bern, Geneva, Zurich, St. Gallen, Lucerne, Sion and Thun), with the final being played at St. Jakob-Park in Basel.
The ceremony will also feature a performance by Swiss artist Stress, an appearance by Women's EURO 2025 mascot Maddli, and the official unveiling of the tournament match ball.
