After returning to the top ten in November for the first time in almost four years, Italy maintained a spot as one of the ten best national teams in the world for the final FIFA Ranking of 2020. The top ten places remain unchanged since last month, with Belgium first ahead of France and Brazil - the same top three from 2019.
Given the crisis caused by the spread of COVID-19, only 352 international fixtures took place in 2020. This is the lowest figure since 1987 (323) in a calendar year. The next FIFA World Ranking will be published on 18 February 2021.
