The absence of Italy at the World Cup has cost them in their FIFA World Rankings position. The Azzurri drop two places to eighth, being overtaken by the Netherlands and Croatia, who jump up five places after finishing the World Cup in third position. On top is Brazil (1840.77 punti), followed by newly-crowned World champions Argentina (1838.38 punti), while the other finalist in Qatar, France, earn one position moving up to third place.
Leaders of the Ranking in recent years, Belgium has moved down a couple of places to fourth, while Spain slide three places down to tenth. Reaching the World Cup semi-final has lifted Morocco up to eleventh (+11) and positive results in Qatar from Australia (27th, +11) and Cameroon (33rd, +10) has also seen them gain a higher ranking.
