Italy drop one position and move to 14th in the Women’s FIFA Rankings

The Azzurre are overtaken by Iceland after the Nations League defeat to Denmark. Japan climb the rankings (5th, +3), Spain and Germany stay in the top 3.

Italy drop one position and move to 14th in the Women’s FIFA Rankings

Following the win against Wales and the loss to Denmark in their first two matches of the Women’s UEFA Nations League, Italy have dropped one position in the FIFA Ranking, falling to 14th. Iceland overtook the Azzurre and the USA held on to the top spot despite their loss to Japan in the SheBelieves Cup. Spain and Germany occupy second and third place respectively.

With regards to sides in the top 10, Japan improved the most, gaining three positions and returning to the top 5 for the first time in ten years, just behind England. Each of Sweden (6th), Canada (7th), and Brazil (8th), dropped a position. There were 127 international matches played with Djibouti entering the world rankings at 195th. The next FIFA Ranking will be published on 12 June.
