Italy drawn against Australia, Cuba and Argentina in Santiago

Australia, Cuba and Argentina. These will be the sides that the Under 20's will face in the Group Stage of the World Cup in Chile, from 27 September until 19 October. 24 teams will compete at the World Cup, in four different host cities: Rancagua, Santiago, Talca and Valparaiso. The top two in each group and the best third place teams will advance to the Round of 16.

CORRADI Corradi analysed the draw saying: "The logistical aspect was more important that getting to know which teams we're playing. The fact that we're in Valparaiso, a seaside city with good infrastructure will allow us to prepare well. Speaking of the opponents, Argentina is definitely a contender to win the competition, and we will also face Australia and Cuba. We know that our objective is to get past the first stage, then we'll assess the situation. We're aware of the importance of the competition and how important it is to be here representing our country. We feel a great sense of responsibility, pride and desire to get onto the pitch".

THE OPPOSITION Argentina come into the Under 20 World Cup after finishing in second place in the Sub-20 Copa America which was played in Chile. Cuba come into the tournament having lost to Mexico in the Concacaf U20 Championship 2024 between July and August 2024. Australia won the U20 Asian Cup final on penalties against Saudi Arabia.
