Italy clinched last minute victory against the Swiss

Another great performance for the Italy Under-18 team, which won 1-0 against their Swiss peers in Gavirate, repeating the 2-1 success obtained three days ago in Novarello. Winning the match for the Azzurrini, who yesterday paid homage to the memory of Gigi Riva in Leggiuno, was a goal scored a few seconds before the end (90'+4) by Alessandro Di Nunzio, Roma's midfielder.

‘It marks the end of a week in which we worked really well,’ underlined coach Daniele Franceschini, ’as well as winning both friendlies. Today, compared to three days ago, it was a more balanced match, in which we were good at believing until the end. The boys did well, both on and off the pitch. We are proud to have participated in such an exciting day in Leggiuno yesterday. Being able to relive the legend of Gigi Riva, who represented and still represents the history of Italian football, through the testimonies of those who knew him, was exciting: a wonderful experience.'
