Italy beat Switzerland in Colorno thanks to Vergani and Ntube goals
After drawing against the Netherlands, Bollini's side won thanks to goals from two Inter playersMonday, September 9, 2019
Italy took the lead two minutes in thanks to a spectacular goal from Inter’s Edoardo Veregani who made his way into the box after a penetrating pass from Ghislandi before picking out the corner. The Azzurrini were then pegged back eight minutes after by an Azevedo goal.
There were few more chances in the first half before Bollini’s side played more confidently in the second half. Piccolo missed an open goal before the winner came in the 81st minute. It was another Inter player who scored as the defender Michael Ntube headed in from a corner.
The last piece of drama was when a goal from Juventus’ Gozzi was disallowed in the final minutes for offside.
