Monday, May 24, 2021
This morning, the National Team players will receive their second Covid-19 vaccine dose at the Lazzaro Spallanzani National Institute for Infectious Diseases in Rome and at the IRCCS Humanitas in Rozzano (Milan). They’ll then head to the Forte Village Resort in Santa Margherita di Pula (CA), where they’ll begin their preparations for the upcoming European Championship, which is kicking off at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on 11 June. Roberto Mancini has called up 33 Azzurri for the upcoming training camp, which will see Italy train every day until Thursday starting from tomorrow. It’ll come to an end at the Sardegna Arena on Friday, when the Azzurri will take on San Marino in a friendly.
After the San Marino game, the Azzurri will enjoy two days of rest before the second phase of the training camp begins. Mancini will announce a new squad on Sunday 30 May, with the team then set to travel to the Coverciano Federal Technical Centre the day after. At the end of this second week of work, Italy will face the Czech Republic on Friday 4 June (20:45 CEST) at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in Bologna – their final friendly before the Euros. The Head Coach is required to submit his final 26-man squad for the tournament before midnight on 1 June.
