Thanks to their success over Romania, Milena Bertolini's Italy secured first place in their group to celebrate once again a passage through to the World Cup Finals. "It's very satisfying," commented FIGC President Gabriele Gravina, "qualifying to a World Cup for the second time running confirms just how well the Azzurre are growing on the international stage. At the Stadio Paolo Mazza , together with General Secretary Marco Brunelli and Vice-President of the FIGC, and President of the AIC, Umberto Calcagno, Ludovica Mantovani was also present and said: "Against a side who didn't want to open up today, and on the back of a disappointing Eur0 2022, it wasn't important to show off a good style of play or performance but to focus on the result and the objective.
