Gravina:

In light of the comments made to the Swedish press by footballer Kosovare Asllani following the Women’s Nations League match between Italy and Sweden on Tuesday evening at the Teofilo Patini stadium in Castel di Sangro, FIGC president Gabriele Gravina was questioned during the press conference that followed the Federal Council meeting and responded: “I believe that Asllani has not been educated on the matter. Castel di Sangro has hosted numerous games for our National teams, not to mention hosting retreats for various Serie A sides and being the FIGC and FITP's federal centre. It deserved more respect, as did the local community and the spectators at last Tuesday’s match. Italy has the right and the duty to choose the venue: the welcome at Castel di Sangro was exceptional and it doesn’t seem to me like we made anyone play in the forest. Did she say that she saw more animals than people? I don’t know what paths she went on”.
