EURO U19, the Azzurrini face Ukraine with a place already secured in the semi-finals

Two matches, two victories, five goals scored and only one conceded. It has been an excellent start to the Under 19 National Team’s Euros campaign in Northern Ireland. After winning their opening game against Norway (2-1 result), came a much more convincing win over the hosts, winning 3-0 with a brace from Camarda and a goal from Zeroli. The six points already won were enough for Italy to qualify for the semifinal with one round of matches left to go as well as securing qualification to the 2025 Under 20 World Cup in Chile, an important step for the entire Federation, also celebrated by the National Teams’ Coordinator, Maurizion Viscidi.

CORRADI. Confirmed as winners of the group, Italy face Ukraine in the final match of Group A: kick-off on Sunday 21 July at 20:00 CEST, live on RaiPlay. Satisfied, but not finished, Bernardo Corradi: “The house we are building is coming together well. We say it’s a multi-ownership because the boys are the owners, including those who participated in the building of this group in the past. They have a very high sense of responsibility and require very few reminders,” commented the coach to Vivo Azzurro TV, the FIGC’s OTT platform available on the App Store, Google Play and the site https://www.vivoazzurrotv.it/en. “I expect the attitude of a winning team in the match against Ukraine. This means that those who get the chance to play more will be supported in every possible way, in preparation, with advice and encouragement from the bench. It’s not banal to say you win as a squad of 20".

UKRAINE. There is a chance of rotation: “We will make some chances, yes, because the idea is to get miles on the legs of everyone: this will allow our preparation, our studying and strategy in the approach to the semi-final to arrive with all elements at 100%. I will make the changes, not because I deem this game less important, we want to try to win them all, from here to the end, but because this will allow us to be in the best possible state.” With two points in the standings so far, Ukraine are second and still have a chance of reaching the next round. “They are an opponent with great individuality, who can still progress to the next round. They are a team who will give everything, we know them, we have studied them: as I always say to the boys, studying is good but if we succeed in putting our quality and characteristics on the pitch, we will perform well, reaching the semifinals charged-up, motivated and concentrated".

The entire interview is available on Vivo Azzurro TV.

GROUP B. In the other group, meanwhile, France have secured maximum points after their 4-2 win over Denmark and are already in the semi-final but first place is not yet certain. France face Spain in what is set to be an exciting match on the third Matchday, determining the final standings of the group. The Spaniards are second on four points after conceding a last minute equaliser to Türkiye (1-1 fulltime), but can still be caught up by the Turks depending on their result against Denmark.
