With three points already on the board, Italy's U19 are preparing for their second match at the UEFA U19 European Championship in Northern Ireland. Tomorrow at 20:00 CEST, live on RaiPlay, the Azzurrini will take on the hosts at Inver Park in Larne, situated approximately 30km from Belfast. Leading Group A undefeated, Lipani and his squad hold a two-point lead over Northern Ireland and Ukraine, who drew 0-0 in their opening match. Another win would guarantee Italy a spot in the semifinals and secure their qualification for the U20 World Cup, irrespective of the result in the Norway vs Ukraine fixture.
CORRADI: Bernardo Corradi spoke to Vivo Azzurro TV after the last training session "The objective now is this. I told the boys that there is nothing more beautiful than being architects of our own destiny. It depends on us, and even though we will play knowing the result of Norway vs Ukraine, against Northern Ireland we cannot afford to play differently. We need to adapt to a very high competitive standard and start very strongly, aiming not to concede goals and trying to secure the result".
Of the match against Norway, played at high intensity: "It was a tough game, as we expected. We knew we had to at least match them competitively and deploy all our tactical knowledge and technique. We struggled at the beginning, but the reaction was crucial, and winning these challenges means that certain positive memories also aid in recovering from a significant effort".
In Group B, Spain and France are tied at the top after both winning their respective matches 2-1: "Despite the defeats, both Denmark and Türkiye made a great impression on me. There was great intensity, which is the leitmotif of this competition and European football in general," concluded the Under 19 coach.
