Euro qualifying Elite round draws for Under 19 and 17s

Scotland, Czech Republic and Georgia for the Under-19 National Team, and the Netherlands, Belgium and Finland for the Under 17s: these are the Azzurrini's respective opponents in the Euro qualifying Elite Rounds, scheduled to take place in Italy and Finland from 20 to 26 March, from the draw made this morning in Nyon (Switzerland) in front of National Youth Coordinator, Maurizio Viscidi.
UNDER 19. Current European holders, Italy got into the Elite phase after finishing second in their group behind Switzerland in the first round. The Azzurrini, drawn into Group 5, will be hosts and will face Scotland on 20 March, Czech Republic on 23 March and round off with Georgia on 26 March.
"There are no easy games at international level," specified head coach Bernardo Corradi. "Considering the pot we were in, we can feel satisfied with the outcome of the draw. Playing at home is testimony of how close the Federation are and always provides us with the best possible conditions. In addition, it wil be a great chance for the public to see our National Youth team: personally, I am very happy."

Group winners will go through to the Finals, scheduled to take place in Northern Ireland from 15 to 28 July, to join the hosts of the tournament.
UNDER 17. The Azzurrini qualified for the Elite Round after finishing second in their group behind Greece. Italy, placed into the Group 3, will face the Netherlands on 20 March, Belgium on 23 March and the hosts, Finland, on 26 March.
"It's an exciting group," said head coach Massimiliano Favo, "both for players and staff. Regardless of names and history, it's always on the pitch where it matters. We should be aware of everyone and, in that sense, the first round of qualification taught us this. I am happy because it will be a chance to compete with some sides of great footballing stature."
