Elite phase: the Azzurrini in challenging group with France, Spain and Latvia

It will be a challenging group in the elite phase of the European qualifications for the Italy U19s. This morning, at the draw in Nyon, the Azzurrini were placed in the first pot along with Denmark, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland and Portugal, and put in Group 5 along with France, Spain and Latvia. The mini-tournament will be played from 19 to 25 March in Italy.

The winners of the seven groups will join hosts Romania in the finals, scheduled from 13 to 26 June.

The draw for the first qualifying phase of the 2026 European Championship also happened this morning in Nyon. Italy, included in the first pot along with Czech Republic, Denmark, France, England, Israel, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine, was drawn in Group 9 of the first European qualifiers phase along with Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Moldova, the host country.
