After an unforgettable 2023, which saw Italy become European U19 Champions again for the first time in 20 years, the Azzzurrini will kick off 2024 with a friendly against Spain and the Federal Technical Centre in Coverciano at 14:30 CET on Wednesday 17 January (there will be a live FIGC stream).
Bernardo Corradi has called up 21 players for the upcoming training camp, which will begin on Sunday 14 January and see the involvement of Inter defender Giacomo Stabile, who has won his first U19 cap. The friendly against Spain, against whom Italy ran out 3-2 winners in the semis on the way to their European triumph (Vignato, Pisilli and Lipani with the goals), is an important test for the Azzurrini, who, from 20 to 26 March, will take to the pitch in Italy for the second phase of European qualifying. Corradi’s side have been placed in the same group as Scotland, the Czech Republic and Georgia and will be aiming to secure their spot in the final tournament in Northern Ireland in July.
