Build-up to the Euros: camp at Coverciano from 8 to 12 June, Bollini calls up 27 players

With just under a month to go until the start of the finals of the European Championship, scheduled from 3 to 16 July in Malta, the National Under 19s team will be back at the Centro Tecnico Federale in Coverciano from Thursday 8 to Monday 12 June.
27 players have been called up by coach Alberto Bollini, all of them from the 2004 age group with the exception of the 2005 players Fabio Christian Chiarodia (Werder Bremen), Pietro Comuzzo (Fiorentina) and Jonas Harder (Fiorentina), the latter two at their first call-up with the Under 19s team, as well as Luigi Cherubini (Roma), Nicolò Contiliano (Spal) and Alessandro Dellavalle (Torino).
The Azzurrini, after finishing Group 5 of the qualifying phase in third place behind Poland and Estonia, qualified as one of the two best third places before reaching the final phase by finishing first in Group 2 of the elite phase ahead of Germany, Belgium and Slovenia. Italy, placed in Group A, will make their debut on Monday 3 July (21:00 CEST) against hosts Malta at the National Stadium in Ta' Qali before facing Portugal at the Centenary Stadium in Ta' Qali on Thursday 6 July (18:00 CEST) and Poland again at the National Stadium in Ta' Qali on Sunday 9 July (18:00 CEST). The semi-finals, to which the top two finishers in the two groups will be admitted, are scheduled for Thursday 13, while the final will be staged on Sunday 16 July.
