Gennaro Gattuso returned to Milanello this morning, to the training centre that was like a second home for many years.
Continuing the tour of Serie A club training camps ahead of the national team’s September fixtures, which is halfway done as of today, the head coach visited Milan, the club where he became a true icon and established himself as a player, winning two Champions League titles, two UEFA Super Cups, a Club World Cup, two Serie A titles, two Italian Super Cups, and a Coppa Italia. From 2017 to 2019, he then undertook a new journey as head coach of the Rossoneri.
Accompanied by the Azzurri’s delegation head Gianluigi Buffon, and assistants Luigi Riccio (his former deputy at Milan) and Leonardo Bonucci (who spent the 2017/18 season with the Rossoneri), the head coach was welcomed by sporting director Igli Tare and team manager Alberto Marangon. Gattuso then spent time with Milan’s head coach, Massimiliano Allegri, his former teammate at Perugia, and observed the training session before greeting the players and members of the technical staff.
