Italy lost in the second friendly at Juliana Sportpark. After going ahead through Carrarra’s opener, the Netherlands responded with Jones’ brace and Romers' goal in added time.

Azzurrini beaten 3-1 by the Netherlands

Italy Under 16s lost 3-1 to the Netherlands, after the great success two days ago, in the second of the friendlies scheduled at Juliana Sportpark in 's-Gravenzande. The Azzurrini went ahead in the first half (9’) thanks to a goal from Cristian Carrara (Inter), before conceding the equaliser in added time. The goal came from PSV’s Austyn Jones, who also scored the second  (80'+2 e 80'+7), and the third goal came from Ajax’s Thijmen Romers (80'+3).

Daniele Zoratto explained: “We fell in extra time. We controlled the match until the last 15 minutes before dropping our intensity levels, contrary to the opposition”.

Overall, the outcome of the two friendlies was positive. The Coach emphasised: "There are a couple of players who can help us integrate the group. Matches against teams like this help us to grow and improve".
