Preparations for the Women’s National Team are well underway ahead of the final two EURO 2025 qualifiers. The games will be against the Netherlands and Finland on Friday 12 July (20:45 CEST) in Sittard and Tuesday 16 July (19:00 CEST) in Bolzano and will be decisive for qualification: Italy, currently third in the group, will need more points than Norway, second for best goal difference, to qualify for the tournament. This is the goal for Andrea Soncin’s side who have been at work in Maserà since yesterday.
After the visit from Gabriele Volponi, mayor of the Maserà City Council, province of Padova, where the Azzurre have been training, the squad had their second session this morning under the inquisitive eye of the children and young girls from the Maserà, Padova and Venezia youth sectors. Soncin played at Venezia between 1996 and 2000 and coached there for six years. Smiles, autographs and pictures: before heading back to Galzignano Terme, the players met with young fans, happy to be able to share some time together.
On Saturday morning, the Azzurre delegation will leave Veneto for Brunico where they will stay until the departure for Sittard. The full squad list for the last two games in Grouop A1 will be announced by Saturday 6 July.
