A few hours after the 0-0 draw with the Netherlands, the National Women's Team returned to the Fortuna Stadion in Sittard to train and start preparing for the last and decisive group game. Thanks to last night's results, Italy are once again master of its own destiny: a victory against Finland, scheduled for Tuesday 16 July in Bozen (19:00 CEST live on Rai Sport), would book the Azzurre's place at EURO 2025. This would also occur should Norway be beaten by the Oranje team and Andrea Soncin's team earned a draw.
The passion of the stadio Druso will be crucial in aiming to finish in the top two in Group 1 and achieve Italy's thirteenth qualification for the final phase of a European Championship. Arianna Caruso is aware of this and can't wait to experience the emotions of the 90 minutes that could provide her team with the plane ticket for the tournament, set to be played in Switzerland in a year's time. “We absolutely have to bring home the three points," - declared the Juventus midfielder. We are lucky because everything is in our hands. The coach complimented us on how we played against the Netherlands and, although there is a hint of regret for not having taken the many opportunities we created, we must immediately turn the page. In three days' time, we will be back in action with the right mentality to complete our work."
Caruso, before boarding the flight that will take the Azzurre to Bolzano in the afternoon, where Italy have not played for 20 years, called on the fans to make Tuesday's atmosphere even more special: "We are expecting a large turnout," she concluded. "It will be our strength and will give us the push, helping us to overcome moments of difficulty. We need everyone and I hope that many will come to cheer us on." Tomorrow evening, the team will train for the first time at the Druso, where on Monday at 19:30 CEST - after the press conference the day before - they will carry out their final preparations.
