“Calm”, that’s the word that Chiara Beccari used the most to describe the Azzurre group. The phrase leaves a sweet feeling anf reflects perfectly the state of things in the Women’s National team camp. ‘Calm’ can’t be the word used to describe the skies over Coverciano, however, that create an overcast backdrop for the third training session of the retreat for Soncin’s girls. It’s grey over the Federal Technical Centre, but not for the smiling Azzurre faces as they were in training this morning ahead of the Netherlands clash, the first fixture on the road to Euro 2025.
During the daily meeting with journalists in tow, Beccari spoke on the recent results and the near future: “We are aware of what we can do. We are working in a calm environment and there is intensity in every training session; we’re fixing every detail, every element, before the games”.
And the next match is in two days at the San Vito - Gigi Marulla in Cosenza, which Soncin called “a historic ground”. Beccari continued: “We need to play our own game against the Netherlands. They are a strong side, fast, especially up front, but we will face them knowing we’re up to the game”.
Tomorrow morning at 11:00 CEST in Coverciano there will be a final training session. In the afternoon, the departure for Cosenza where the Azzurre will complete a walkabout at 19:15 CEST before a press conference with the Coach and a player.
