With the Women’s Coppa Italia quarter-finals now complete, the Azzurre will meet at Coverciano this evening to begin their preparations for the Algarve Cup, the prestigious invitational tournament that kicks off on 16 February in the south of Portugal. Milena Bertolini’s girls will train at the Federal Technical Centre tomorrow morning before flying to Lagos in the afternoon. There, they’ll take on Denmark at 13:00 CET on Wednesday 16 February at the Estádio Municipal de Lagos.
After receiving her first call-up, Como defender Giulia Rizzon won’t be able to join up with the squad due to a muscle problem. Bertolini has called up Benedetta Glionna in her place. As a result, the Roma attacker won’t take part in the U23s’ training camp, with Hellas Verona midfielder Anna Catelli replacing her.
