All Italians living in Iserlohn have been waiting for Tuesday 11 June to arrive for months. At 16:30 CEST, at the Hemberg Stadion Nord, the Azzurri will hold their first training session in Germany. It will be the one and only public training session, with around 4000 supporters expected to watch the team in action four days before their opening EURO 2024 match against Albania in Dortmund. Accredited UEFA EURO media will be able to access to the stadium from 15:00 CEST.
An action-packed day is in store in Iserlohn. From 18:00 CEST, the Media Center will be open for accredited guests. This space will host the Azzurri’s press conferences during the Euros and feature equipped stations, the TV studios of the main broadcasters and, in a marquee in the outdoor area, the Media Working Area.
Meanwhile, at 19:00 CEST, the inauguration of Casa Azzurri is scheduled. This will be a meeting place for fans of the National Team and a reference point for the activities of FIGC partners, with concerts, workshops, exhibitions and shows set to take place here. Casa Azzurri will be located in the area between Matthias Grothe Halle, a sports complex, the canteen of the nearby high school (Märkische Gymnasium) and the surrounding outdoor space.
There will be space for Parnter areas, hospitality lounges, a restaurant, a pub, a Football Museum area, installations for recreational entertainment activities, a stage for concerts, as well as a big screen to watch European Championship matches. The Casa Azzurri inauguration ceremony will be attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, FIGC President Gabriele Gravina, the Italian Ambassador to Germany, Armando Varricchio, the Mayor of Iserlohn, Michael Joithe, and the entire National Team.
Those who want to gain access to the ribbon-cutting ceremony must apply for accreditation by 12:00 CEST on Tuesday 11 June by sending an email to s.orati@figc.it.
