With just over a month to go until the next Elite Round in Finland, the Under-17 side will be on retreat at Coverciano from 13 to 16 May as they prepare for the final stages of the U17 European Championships, scheduled from 20 May to 5 June in Cyprus.
Massimiliano Favo has called up 28 players, all born in 2007 apart from the five born in 2008 (Camarda, Campaniello, Longoni, Natali and Inácio Piá), to meet at the Federal Technical Centre on Monday 13 May. The final squad list will be decided on Thursday 16.
In Group C, Italy will make their debut in the competition against Poland on Tuesday 21 May (19:30 CEST) at the AEK Arena in Larnaca. On Friday 24 (17:00 CEST) at the Dasaki Achnas Stadium they will face Slovakia and on Monday 27 (17:00 CEST) at the Paralimni Municipal Stadium Tasos Markou they will play Sweden. The top two sides of each group will go through to the quarter-finals on 29 and 30 May. The semi-finals are scheduled for Sunday 2 June and the final will be on Wednesday 5 (19:30 CEST) at the Limassol Stadium.
