The Football Museum, open at the weekend, tells its story in numbers
More than 150 mementos tell the story of the 111 years since the Azzurri's first matchThursday, July 29, 2021
The Football Museum in Coverciano, which is open next weekend from 10:00 to 18:00 CEST, tells its story in numbers. It reopened to the public almost 90 days ago, on 1 May.
It contains over 150 mementos that tell the story of the 111 years since the Azzurri's first match, played against France on 15 May 1910.
Inside the museum, created 21 years ago, on the first floor, there is a temporary exhibition of the seven shirts of the seven matches played by Roberto Mancini's Italy. Among them, the number 21 of Gianluigi Donnarumma, voted Euro2020 best player, who with the other Azzurri goalkeepers achieved an unbeaten record with 1,186 minutes without conceding a goal. Next to him, the number 8 shirt of Jorginho, who scored during the first match (11 June 2021) with the public's return to the stadium, as well as Federico Chiesa number 14 shirt, who made records after both him and his father have scored at the European Championships.
At the entrance, the Court of Champions welcomes visitors with a timeline of the history of the National Team and the 823 names of players who have worn the Azzurri shirt in official matches.
