'Sfumature di Azzurro' makes a stop in Spoleto: the travelling exhibition of the Football Museum of Coverciano will be in the Umbrian city from 24 June to 9 July, on the occasion of the Festival of the Two Worlds and as part of the 'CONI per Festival' project.
After the great success of the first stop in Reggio Calabria last March - which took place on the occasion of the National Under-21 team's match against the Ukrainian team - the Football Museum brings back some memorabilia from its collection outside the 'borders' of Coverciano, which bear witness to more than a century of Azzurri challenges.
The memorabilia on display. The objects from Coverciano on display in Spoleto will allow visitors to retrace the history of the national football teams, on a path adorned by four world titles, two continental titles and one Olympic gold medal, with the possibility of seeing up close the World and European Cups raised by the Azzurri.
From England... to England: because if the first (in chronological order) of the original memorabilia on display will be the ball of the very first match between Italy and the National Team of the Three Lions, played on 13 May 1933 in Rome, the list of objects on display ends with the Euro 2020 Cup, lifted to the sky at Wembley by Mancini's boys after defeating the English team in the final.
Among the memorabilia, one can see the official 'diploma' of first place, awarded to the Italian Giuseppe Baldo, after winning the Olympic gold medal in Berlin '36, so far the only one in the history of Italian football.
Giuseppe Bergomi's jersey and the pennant of the Italy-Argentina challenge testify to the third star, that of the Mundial '82, while the ball of the Berlin final and the pennant of the Italy-Germany semifinal bring to mind the 2006 triumph.
And then, among the various memorabilia on display, there will also be the ball from the first European success, that of 1968, and Paolo Rossi's jersey worn at the Argentina '78 World Cup, as well as Dino Zoff's gloves and the jersey worn by Roberto Baggio at France '98.
There will also be a section dedicated to the women's national team, with two jerseys: that of Elisabetta Vignotto - who in Azzurri history is in second place ever for goals scored: 107 - and that of Barbara Bonansea, worn during the 'World Girls' trip to France 2019.
Augmented reality and the 1982 final. Not only memorabilia on display: visitors will also be able to relive the 1982 World Cup final, the famous Italy 3-1 Germany, thanks to virtual reality. Wearing a visor, fans and enthusiasts can experience the feeling of being on the pitch - next to Bruno Conti, 'Pablito' Rossi and 'Spillo' Altobelli - or in the stands, between Italian President Pertini and Spanish King Juan Carlos. The project of this virtual reality, 'VR4Football', was realised by Noema Digital.
