Parma is the next destination for Italy's football museum's travelling exhibition from Saturday 2 until Tuesday 5 December. ‘Sfumature di azzurro’ is on show around Italy telling the history of the National team through important pieces of memorabilia, usually present at HQ in Coverciano.
Where and when. For the first time, the football museum's travelling tour will follow the Women's National team. After a successful stop in Rome for the Men's National team's game with North Macedonia, it will be possible to visit the Sfumature di Azzurro exhibition – with the endorsement of Parma City Council - at the Laboratorio Aperto del Complesso di San Paolo (Vicolo delle Asse 5, Parma), in the build-up to the Azzurre's Nations League fixture against Switzerland on Tuesday 5 December at the stadio Tardini (kick-off, 19:00 CET). Entry to the exhibition is free and the opening times are as follows: Saturday 2, Sunday 3 and Monday 4 December from 09:00 until 13:00 CET, and from 15:00 until 19:00 CET; on the day of the game, the exhibition will only be open in the morning from 09:00 until 13:00 CET.
The memorabilia. Numerous historic items will be on display at the Laboratorio Aperto del Complesso di San Paolo, including the ball used in the 1933 friendly between Italy and England and the certificate given following the 1936 Olympic success in Berlin. And there is much more: the Azzurri shirt worn by Fabio Capello in 1973 for the National team's first-ever victory at Wembley; the shirt worn by Paolo Rossi at the 1978 World Cup Finals, as well as Beppe Bergomi's at the 1982 tournament; Dino Zoff's gloves at the same competition in Spain; the shirt worn by Roberto Baggio at France 98 and Gianluigi Donnarumma's at Euro 2020, where he was awarded player of the tournament.
There will also be a specific focus on Women's football, with several pieces of important memorabilia from the Azzurre archives, from Barbara Bonansea's shirt worn at the 2019 World Cup to Carolina Morace's at the 1997 Euros, as well as the shirt from another legend of the Women's game, Betty Vignotto (1982) and the boots from the National team's all-time leading appearance and goalscorer, Patrizia Panico (204 games and 110 goals). But it doesn't end there: also on display will be Sara Gama's boots worn during the 2019 World Cup and the shirt that Lisa Boattin wore to earn third place at the Women's Under 17 World Cup in Costa Rica in 2014.
