The bank holiday weekend to celebrate the Immaculate Conception has begun, and as previously announced, the Museo del Calcio (Italy's National Football Museum) has decided to donate their entire proceeds, from between 8-10 December, to the Tiziano Terzani library in Campi Bisenzio, a cultural institution which suffered heavily from flooding in early November, lossing approximately between 80-100,000 books. It is tangible support for what is a true reference point for the area's children and young people.
This morning, Campi Bisenzio's vice-mayor, Federica Petti, visited the museum to personally thank all the staff: “I want to thank the Museo del Calcio in Coverciano for this initiative of support for our library," she said to Education, Culture and Equal Opportunity delegates. "Sport and Culture are vital aspects for building a community and this embrace from the Museo del Calcio is of great importance for us, teamwork that has a really important puropse: rebuilding our library for the children of Campi Bisenzio”.
