A new Grande Torino exhibition at the Museo del Grande Torino and della Leggenda Granata

«Grande Torino’s Final Flight», is the title of the new exhibition at the Museo del Grande Torino and della Leggenda Granata, looking back at the famous Torino side that died in the Superga tragedy. The exhibition will be launched on Saturday at 10:30 CEST, hosted at Villa Claretta Assandri in Grugliasco until 14th July.

The display will be just one of a number of initiatives paying tribute to the Superga tragedy on its 70th anniversary. In addition to the Grande Torino side, this exhibition will also be dedicated to the other crew members who were on board that fateful flight. Among the objects within the exhibition, some of the most emotional are the personal belongings of pilot Pier Luigi Meroni – which have been looked after by his family since being discovered at Superga.

Those present at the inauguration will include: Sandro Mazzola, son of Grande Torino captain Valentino, Riccardo and Alessandro Meroni, son and nephew of Pier Luigi; Marisa and Celeste D’Incà,  niece and nephew of Celeste; Edoardo Bonaiuti, son of Andrew, the trip organiser and Mirko Ballotta, museum historian.

The Grande Torino Museum is open from 14:00 CEST till 19:00 on Saturdays, as well as 10:00 to 19:00 on Sundays. Visits are possible from Monday to Friday, although only with prior booking.
