The winner of the Nations League quarter-final fixtures between Italy and Germany will host the semis and final next June. UEFA made it official following the meeting of the Executive Committee this morning in Lausanne. Should the Azzurri come out on top of the double-header with Germany on Thursday 20 March at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan and Sunday 23 March at the Westfalenstadion in Dortmund, the finals would be played in Torino. The Juventus Stadium would host the semis (4 or 5 June) and the final (8 June at 20:45 CET), whilst the third-place playoff would be held at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. Should Germany win, the finals would be held in Munich and Stuttgart.
Federal President Gabriele Gravina spoke from Lausanne: “UEFA’s decision to organise the Nations League finals according to the winner of the quarter-final fixtures between Italy and Germany is another important show of faith in the FIGC and Italian football. Given the Super Cup will also be hosted in Udine, we have decided to involve another region in what could be a historic tournament, played in a single city for the first time”.
AZZURRI IN TORINO. Italy have played 40 games in Torino and count 26 wins, 9 draws and 5 defeats. The last game dates back to 10 October 2021 when the Azzurri beat Belgium 2-1 with goals from Nicolò Barella and Domenico Berardi to secure third place in the UEFA Nations League.
