WADA: List of Prohibited Substances and Methods 2025 published, effective 1 January

The World Anti-Doping Agency has published the 2025 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods, which was approved by the WADA Executive Committee on 12 September and will come into force on 1 January. The published list is one of eight mandatory international standards for all signatories of the World Anti-Doping Code and indicates which substances and methods are prohibited both within and outside competitions and which substances are banned in particular sports. As is customary, WADA also released the summary of the main changes and explanatory notes of the 2025 list compared to the current list and the 2025 Monitoring Programme, which includes substances that are not presently included but will be monitored by WADA to detect potential patterns of abuse in the world of sport.
