UEFA Nations League, Italy vs. Belgium: a ‘Quiet Room’ for children with autism
A first in National Team historyThursday, October 3, 2024
A new important step forward in the sustainability strategy adopted by the FIGC. Thanks to the support of ‘Sport e Salute’, when Italy face Belgium at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome in the Nations League on Thursday 10 October, a number of children will be offered the chance to watch the match from a dedicated ‘Quiet Room’ in the Tribuna Monte Mario. This will be a first in National Team history.
As was also the case during the last Coppa Italia final and during concerts and other events such as the European Athletics Championships, a safe and welcoming environment awaits young fans involved in the FIGC Youth and School Sector’s ‘Integrated Football’ project. Together with their teammates, they will be able to follow the match in total safety and enjoy an exciting experience, as will 3000 children from football schools from Rome and the Lazio region. Just as they play together on the same pitch, sharing their passion for football, they will soon be able to be together at the stadium. The objective is to create an environment where every child, whatever their ability, can participate and feel part of the same big movement, both on the field and in the stands.
AUDIO-DESCRIPTION SERVICE FOR THE BLIND. Continuing on from the National Team’s last few matches, the audio-description service for blind fans will be made available during the Nations League matches against Belgium (10 October, Stadio Olimpico in Rome) and Israel (14 October, Stadio Friuli in Udine). For both of the two games, the FIGC has invited around 20 blind supporters, who will be accompanied by their respective carers, to the match, which they’ll be able to follow thanks to dedicated commentary that will be accessible from their smartphones.
