Trophy Tour in Codroipo: A Virtual Reality trip for football fans and curious onlookers

Over the past few days, the Under-21 European Championship Trophy Tour has taken place at Villa Manin in Codroipo during the Sapori Pro Loco, a great wine and culinary event specific to Friuli Venezia Giulia. Thanks to 3D Virtual Reality, visitors have been able to delight in an immersive and unique experience. Wearing special glasses, they’ve travelled through the places that will host the Under-21 European Championship (Bologna, Reggio Emilia, Trieste, Udine, Cesena and San Marino) and visited the most famous spots.

During their trip, they got to meet some players involved in the Under-21 National Team: captain Rolando Mandragora, Manuel Locatelli and Riccardo Orsolini. Salvatore La Manna, who is part of Italy’s Amputee Team, showed the visitors what makes these places special and unique, while he also told them about what it means to cheer on our National Team.

Football fans and those whose curiosity was aroused had the opportunity to take photos with the trophy that the winners of the tournament will hold up. This remained on display throughout the day. There was also a VR game: thanks to Virtual Reality technology, those taking part had the chance to put themselves to the test as a goalkeeper or striker by simulating the moves made by champions.

Music and entertainment involved all passers-by, with Under-21 European Championship gadgets being distributed within the Village.

The start of the tournament is just over a month away. As regards Udine, three Group B matches (Germany vs. Denmark on Monday 17 June, Denmark vs. Austria on Thursday 20 June and Austria vs. German on Sunday 23 June) and the final (at 20:45 CEST on Sunday 30 June) are set to take place here.

Tickets are on sale at uefaeurounder21.vivaticket.it, with prices varying from three to eight euros. Groups that register on the site tifiamoeuropa.eu can obtain discounts.
