Tigotà becomes a FIGC partner and joins forces with the AIA

Tigotà is a new partner of the FIGC, Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio: the brand, which sells cosmetics, healthcare items and household products in nearly 700 outlets throughout Italy, is joining forces with the AIA (Italian Referees’ Association), with its logo set to appear on the shirts of Italian match officials during the 2023/24 season.

In addition to providing shirt sponsorship, Tigotà has chosen to launch a communication and awareness campaign on fair play, which will emphasise the importance of respecting the rules on and off the pitch. Healthy competition, team spirit, equality, respect, friendship and tolerance are just some of the values the company is promoting with a view to making the world of sports increasingly ethical and inclusive.

Each month, the company will present gift cards worth €500 to referees who have stood out for their outstanding ethical behaviour. Furthermore, in addition to the individual referee, the refereeing section they belong to will receive a gift card worth €5000.

“We really wanted to encourage ethical and virtuous sports behaviour,” said Tigotà President Tiziana Gottardo. “In order to enjoy the fruits of success, it isn’t enough to win: a triumph should be achieved fairly and honestly. Every sportsperson needs to have respect for both the written rules and unwritten rules, the latter of which are equally important and indispensable. Fair play requires unconditional respect for opponents, fellow players, referees and fans.”

“We’d like to welcome Tigotà to the great family of Italian football fully aware that together we can go down a virtuous path aimed at successfully transmitting the values that shape individuals in the right way and are a fundamental part of the sporting experience,” said FIGC General Secretary Marco Brunelli.

“We’re delighted with this agreement with Tigotà, whose logo will be present on the kits worn by Italian referees from Serie A through to all the various youth divisions,” said AIA President Carlo Pacifici. “The Fair Play initiative is worthy of praise; it’s perfectly in keeping with the attitude of referees when it comes to respecting the rules and principles of solidarity, ethical standards and social inclusion.”

From September, Tigotà will also promote fair play within 150 Italian schools. Indeed, through Tigotà Educational, 4000 pupils will be involved in workshops on respect, inclusion and teamwork. “Thanks to the precious work of our educators, we’ll tell girls and boys all about the importance of civic education, friendship, respect and integrity,” concluded Tiziano Gottardo.
