Pending a final confirmation from FIFA, UEFA’s Executive Committee today approved the procedure to be taken for the draw for the European Qualifiers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The 55 European nations will be divided into ten groups - five made up out of six teams and five out of five - with the ten group winners qualifying directly for the World Cup. The ten second-placed teams and the top two teams in the UEFA Nations League who have not yet qualified will then compete in play-offs to determine the final three European nations who should take part at the World Cup tournament stage.
