The FIGC celebrate Easter with the Bambino Gesù hospital

With the symbolic delivery of a large chocolate egg, to mark the Easter period the FIGC has confirmed its support to the organisations that operate in the world of children this year, too, donating 15,000 euros to the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital. It is a small but precious contribution, which will allow 120 families in need, while their children are hospitalised, to be hosted in three of the welcome shelters affiliated with the Roman hospital.

The collaboration between the Federation and Bambino Gesù is thus renewed, which began in 2015 and has continued over the last few years with visits by the national team on the eve of matches played by Italy in Rome. The FIGC supports the hospital in various activities, from fundraising to communication campaigns, from the donation of medical instruments to the delivery of gift packages at Christmas and Easter.

Welcomed this morning at the Gianicolo headquarters by the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital President, Professor Tiziano Onesti, the FIGC President, Gabriele Gravina, confirmed the Federation's support to the hospital and its young patients: "The FIGC is always alongside the Bambino Gesù Hospital for the praiseworthy and qualified activity it carries out on a daily basis, by virtue of a strong partnership to which I am particularly attached to. We are close to the children who find care and comfort here and the symbolic donation of a giant egg, to mark the Easter holidays, represents confirmation of the concrete economic support that we give to the structure led by President Onesti every year".

“The warm welcoming at Bambino Gesù is a great system that embraces anyone who needs support and for this reason needs to be constantly nourished”, underlined the president of Bambino Gesù, Tiziano Onesti. “The gift from the FIGC goes exactly in this direction and will allow many families to remain close to their children during hospital stays. A special thank you, therefore, to the Italian Football Federation, to President Gravina, to the footballers who year after year come to the hospital to take part in the many initiatives proposed to the children, young people and their loved ones on the difficult path of treatment".
