The Commission Responsible for Safeguarding Policies was established in Rome this morning. The group was nominated by the FIGC's Consiglio Federale following specific interest after a meeting on 28 October. The Commission, established in order to prevent and combat all forms on abusive conduct, violence and discrimination carried out in the field of federal activities or connected to federal activity, is formed of seven components, nominated for a four-year period.
The Commission will have, amongst others, the task of monitoring the adoption or updating, from societies, organisational models and control of sporting activities and codes of conduct, as well as ensuring the appointment of a Safeguarding Officer within all affiliated organisations. Furthermore, it will adopt every initiative possible to prevent and combat specific forms of abuse, violence and discrimination amongst members, signalling to competent organs all relevant conduct.
The Secretary General of the FIGC Marco Brunelli opened proceedings, congratulating the good work of the new members of the group, discussing the relevant themes, reaffirming the support of the Federation to the activities of the commission.
