“Take care of yourselves and your loved ones, train at home, stay ‘connected’, continue to team up and fight in this contest that we’ve been called up for without warning, with the belief that we’ll win. Football has been a vehicle that’s allowed me to discover the beauty of those who, like all of you in various ways, have the ability to turn weaknesses into strengths,” it was with these words that the FIGC’s President, Gabriele Gravina, wanted to display his support for the Divisione Calcio Paralimpico e Sperimentale (the Division for Paralympic and Experimental Football) during these tough times in which they have postponed all football activity in the country for the 2019/20 season.
With this letter, the FIGC’s President wanted to send a message of hope and encouragement to all those at the heart of this wonderful adventure that started on 30 January 2020 with the official kick-off of their sporting activity throughout Italy.
The FIGC’s head has also urged all members to maintain the spirit that has seen the birth and progress of this new-born Federal Division, with the shared hope of being able to restart work with an eye towards a shared future of growth and social inclusion.
Never has it been so crucial to behave like a football team with one common goal in mind as it is now, with the awareness that sometimes even stopping is an act of strength before restarting all together whilst united by the same passion for football.
