Italy and Ukraine: Gravina and Shevchenko Sign Collaboration Agreement

The friendship between Italy and Ukraine strengthens with a new football project. The aim is to provide Ukrainian players and coaches with adequate technical training, despite the ongoing conflict with Russia, to contribute to a human and professional path that offers them hope and new opportunities.

In this regard, during the 48th UEFA Congress held in Paris last week, the president of FIGC, Gabriele Gravina, and the newly appointed head of UAF, Andrii Shevchenko, signed an agreement to intensify collaboration between the two Federations. Specifically, it was agreed to conduct shared technical and training activities for the benefit of young footballers and coaches identified by UAF at the Coverciano Technical Center, or at other designated facilities and venues.

The objective challenges faced by Ukrainian athletes and coaches in practicing sports within the national territory have prompted the newly elected president, Shevchenko, to raise awareness among other European Federations, immediately finding the willingness of Gravina and FIGC to cooperate.

"I am proud that Ukraine has chosen Italy to start such an important collaboration, both in football terms and in terms of values," said President Gravina. "We have always stood by our Ukrainian friends through solidarity initiatives, to help improve the living conditions of ordinary people, and sports projects, facilitating the registration of thousands of young people fleeing from war. But this time, we will ensure an even more organic and structured technical collaboration aimed at securing the future of Ukrainian football. With Andrii, we have been friends for a long time, and I wish him great success in his new role as president of the Federation. He is the right man for the job."
