UEFA’s anti-doping project ‘HatTricK V’ continued at the SSC Napoli Konami Training Center in Castel Volturno today: with the club also competing in Europe, the Federal Anti-Doping Commission and NADO Italia (the Italian Anti-Doping Organisation) met with players and medical and technical staff from Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli.
Representing the Federal Anti-Doping Commission during today’s meeting (the eighth of the season) were Giuseppe Capua and Paolo Nucci. They discussed the work being done by the Commission, including its collaboration with NADO Italia and FMSI (Italian Sports Medicine Federation) to conduct anti-doping controls in and out of competition and the educational projects it is carrying out with schools and youth teams, as well as with all the men’s and women’s national teams (including the futsal and beach soccer sides) through UEFA’s anti-doping programme ‘HatTrick V’. This was established to ensure high-quality anti-doping education and has the primary aim of preventing intentional and unintentional doping, helping players stay clean and avoiding accidental rule violations.
Meanwhile, Alessia Di Gianfrancesco and Valentina Gervasi attended on behalf of NADO Italia and talked about anti-doping sports regulations with a particular focus on the list of banned substances and Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs).
