The FIGC has submitted the Final Bid Dossier to UEFA, putting forward Italy’s candidacy to host EURO 2032. After months of hard work alongside the Government, Parliament, local councils and other stakeholders, the document is now in the hands of UEFA. European football’s governing body will assess the submitted bids over the coming months and give their final decision during the session of the Executive Committee on 10 October, when they will announce the host nations for the 2028 and 2032 editions of the tournament. The other Association to have submitted a bid for 2032 is Turkey. The cities identified to host the tournament are Milan, Turin, Verona, Genoa, Bologna, Florence, Rome, Naples, Bari and Cagliari. The city of Palermo will continue to be involved in support of the bid.
“The dossier for Italy’s bid to host UEFA EURO 2023 is inspired by a ‘New Renaissance’,” said FIGC President Gabriele Gravina. “It’s been compiled through continued connections to our regions and, on the one hand, celebrates our historical and artistic heritage and, on the other, is well as its environmental impact and sustainability. The dossier is the fruit of a lot of hard work. Football has again become a vehicle for unity and widespread equality, materialised in the adoption of several governmental, parliamentary and municipal measures that ennoble our candidacy. We’ve imagined what Italy and European football will look like in ten years’ time, well aware of the capacity of such an event to generate a wealth of opportunities for the entire nation. I want to thank all the stakeholders who have taken to this project with great enthusiasm and collaborative spirit.”
