In international awareness month for the prevention of breast cancer, the ‘Race for the Cure’ campaign returns, with a stop in Napoli on Sunday 15 October, and across the whole of Campania throughout the month with runs, walks and other events taking place; a 'Prevention Mobile Unit' will also be on tour offering out a series of free tests.
Also in this new leg, following on from those at Roma, Bari, Brescia, Bologna and Matera, the FIGC is supporting Komen Italia, who will be involved creating a number of video messages recorded by the Azzurri and Azzurre players to remind everyone of the importance of prevention in breast cancer. It is an appeal that will also be highlighted by the Federal Training Centre being lit up pink while the Men's senior squad (from 9 to 12 October) and the Women's First Team squad (from 23 to 26 October) are both there for their training camps.
In addition, the Azzurre will meet a special 'Prevention Convoy' team at the end of the month in Salerno, where they will face Spain for matchday 3 in the Women's Nations League on Friday 27 October (17:45 CEST at the Stadio Arechi). For the occasion, the game will coincide with the tour promoted by Komen Italia, who will be in Mercogliano (AV) at the Reggia di Caserta (21/22 October), Salerno (from 26 to 29 October) and finally in Capua (28/29 October), offering out in each place, including the Stadio Arechi, free test kits.
