FIGC, in collaboration with Sportradar, held a workshop yesterday for referees from CAN on maintaining integrity in the competition and the risks of corruption and match-fixing in football.
In Cascia, where the officials are currently preparing for the start of the upcoming league campaign, FIGC's Filippo Laurenti and Sportradar lawyer Marcello Presilla reminded those present of the measures to take into consideration for responding efficiently to corruption attempts: “Our programme aims to tackle the phenomenom of illegal activity that can occur in Sport," declared Filippo Laurenti underlining how important learning courses like this one are alongside analysing data and specific cases. “Rule violation in betting concerns every sport," Marcello Presilla explained. "It is vital to understand the motivation behind breaking rules, and analysing the ways and knowing how to respond and react correctly to unlawful acts."
