A sweet surprise to give a smile and a moment of serenity to children and young people forced to spend the Easter holidays in a hospital bed. As part of the collaboration with the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital and thanks to Bauli - the official licensee of the Italian Football Federation - once again this year, the FIGC donated 700 Easter eggs to the young patients hospitalised at the hospital's four inpatient centres (Gianicolo in Rome, Palidoro, Santa Marinella and Passoscuro).
And another 100 chocolate eggs were delivered this morning at the Policlinico Umberto I Paediatric Clinic, another important organisation working in the world of children.
"We are pleased to renew our commitment of closeness and solidarity towards those who suffer," said FIGC president Gabriele Gravina. "In its programme of social responsibility, the Federation supports the activities of the Bambino Gesù Hospital and numerous paediatric wards of other facilities throughout Italy with various initiatives, thanks also to the sensitivity of the Azzurri, because we strongly believe in the message that sport, and football in particular, can give a little relief and happiness to those who live difficult moments in their lives. Giving a smile to a child makes the whole community better and more united'.
