EURO 2032, the 7th Senate Commission approves the resolution. Gravina: “An act of great value

"It is a political act of great value, because it is unanimous and transversal": this is what FIGC president Gabriele Gravina said about the approval of the resolution in support of the Italian bid to host UEFA EURO 2032 by the 7th Permanent Commission of the Senate.

"We are finalising a serious and credible dossier, which we will present in a month's time," continued Gravina. "This important political commitment strengthens the journey that we are on and which sees us working daily with the Minister for Sport Andrea Abodi, who shares our same objective. Our bid stems from a vision that is becoming a project, hosting EURO 2032 can contribute to the development of Italian football and to the entire country. I would like to thank the President of the Commission Roberto Marti, all the members and in particular the first signatory, Senator Filippo Melchiorre, who with great responsibility has personally committed himself to attempting to achieve this result".

Acknowledging the national importance of an event such as the UEFA EURO 2032, with the resolution approved today the 7th Commission of the Senate commits the Government to "support and approve the bid made by the FIGC to host the UEFA EURO 2032 European Football Championship Finals, taking every initiative available within its power that may enhance the national interest in this event and the financial benefits," as well as to 'guarantee, consequently, the necessary support for the improvement of sports infrastructures within the framework of urban regeneration projects, without taking up new territory, also through the configuration of systems that favour the allocation and/or retrieval of suitable financial resources, both public and private, and identifying procedures that ensure the completion of the interventions within the timeframe required by UEFA, also through a centralisation and simplification of the same procedures, borrowing modalities already adopted for projects and/or events deemed to be of national interest'.
